Microscoping Method
A website that offers a computer-assisted method for studying Bible passages “microscopically” is BibleArc.com. While the method can be applied manually with pencil (and eraser) on paper, there is a fee attached for participation and storing the “arcs”. Arc-ing is a method for
discerning (the components of a passage),
displaying microscopically (the components and their relationships using “arcs”), thus facilitating
discussing the meaning of the passage.
In applying arcs to a given passage, we are in effect scrutinizing it microscopically.
Of course, we do not need to use the Bible Arc website, or its exact somewhat complicated method, for looking at passages microscopically.
We can do it on paper with pencil and eraser.
