How to Claim the Benefits of the Will

You have been named in THE WILL. You have been given unlimited benefits. Your Elder Brother is the Testator and your Lawyer. Your Heavenly Father is the Judge.

This webpage will show you how easy it is to receive what rightfully belongs to you.

You Are Rich and Don’t Even Know It!

Matthew 26:26  And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27  And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The Greek word translated as “testament” in the above passage is diatheke. It means Will. You can see this from the legal phrase used in English to refer to a Will as the Last Will and Testament. The person whose Will it is, is called in law the Testator.

In a Will, the Testator disposes of what he owns. He gives all the things that he owns to certain individuals.

Now here’s the amazing thing.

Your Bible is the Will that God has given to the human race! And that includes you!

Hebrews 9:7  But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8  The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9  Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

11  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

As we can see from the last verse above, there is an old Will and a new Will. The new Will is found in the New Testament. Christ is the Mediator of the New Testament, to see that the Will is executed, is carried out. In other words, Christ is living to see that this Will and everything that He died for comes to us. He is our Great High Priest, living at the right hand of the Father, to make good everything that is promised to us from Matthew to Revelation.

Hebrews 9:16  For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17  For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

We know from normal legal practice that there must be a death, or the Will is not valid. A Will is only executed after the Testator’s death.

Under the Old Testament, Moses had the blood of animals. There had to be some blood to prove that somebody or something had died. In the Old Testament it was animals. The blood was taken as evidence that they had died as a substitute for the people’s sins (Hebrews 9:20,22).

Hebrews 9:19  For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20  Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21  Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Let’s look at one more scripture:

Hebrews 10:16  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17  And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18  Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20  By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21  And having an high priest over the house of God;
22  Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

All of these scriptures are concerning a Will.

God left something to you and me in a Will. Where is the Will? It is in your Bible from Matthew to Revelation. That is the Will!

The Will defines all the benefits coming to every individual mentioned in the Will. That, by the way, is one very good reason that you need to read your Bible regularly. There was a death, so there must be a will! God has recorded what Jesus, by His death, purchased for you and me.

The Will must be probated.

If someone dies, the will must be probated. In order to probate the will, there has to be proof of death. THAT IS WHERE THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS SO IMPORTANT. The Blood of Jesus is the proof of His death. He did not leave one drop of His Blood here on earth. When He shed His Blood on Calvary, and then appeared to Mary Magdalene, this is what He told her:

John 20:17  Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Later, when He appeared to the disciples, He said,

John 20:27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Luke 24:39  Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40  And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

At one time, He said, “Don’t touch Me.” Another time, He said, “Handle Me.” In between these two incidents, He had ascended to the Father. He took every drop of His precious Blood into the Holiest of Holies. The Book of Hebrews tells us that Blood is sprinkled is sprinkled before the Mercy Seat of God as evidence that Jesus actually did die.

Hebrews 9:23  It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24  For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us

Leviticus 17:11a  For the life of the flesh is in the blood: …

In other words, the Will was probated. The Blood, sprinkled on the Mercy Seat in Heaven, was legal proof before the the Heavenly Judge and other Heavenly Witnesses, that Jesus had died. The Blood settled forever that He had indeed died. The Father knows it. The angels know it. The demons know it. The Devil knows it.

Hebrews 12:22  But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24a  And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling

When you and I get to Heaven, the Blood will still be there. That Blood is evidence that Jesus died and that therefore THE WILL IS IN EFFECT. You need to be sure that you know that the Will is operating for you now. This will help you in fighting the battles of life.

To sum up: A Will is of no effect until someone dies. Your Will is worthless to your heirs until you die. It will not give another person a single thing, until you die.

Because the Blood of Jesus shed for us is in Heaven, it follows that what He left us in the Bible is absolutely and justifiably ours in the sight of God, in the sight of the Devil and in the sight of man.

In many lands, there are millions of the nation’s currency in unclaimed will benefits that the heirs know nothing abhout. What do the courts do with it? They wait for a while to see whether any claimant comes forward. If nobody does, they finally just give it to the State.

Some people have never been told that they were named in a Will. Some people know that they are mentioned, but sadly havge never taken the time to investigate what tehir inheritance might be.

In other words, some people are rich, because of a Will, and do not even know it! Either because they haven’t been told, or because they have never bothered to find out what exactly and how much of it has been left to them!

Some people have told me, “Why, Cossy, if Jesus wants me to suffer like this, I am perfectly willing to suffer for Him. I have no complaints. I am happy to suffer on His behalf.” Most of the people who say this are Catholics or main-line Protestants who have been influenced by the Catholic theology of their schools or environment or heritage. In spite of all you can sau to them, trying to explain God’s Will, they are completely convinced that they are suffering for Jesus, whereas the truth is that Jesus suffered for us! They will not listen to what Jesus has left them in His Will. So they will go to their graves in their sick or injured or crippled condition.

The people who get healed are the ones who really and truly, in the depths of their hearts, hear the Will and simply believe that healing belongs to them.

We need to know what is ours in the Will that Jesus has given us. We need to find out what is in the Will. We need to read His Will every day. Many people are paupers when Jesus wants them to be rich, spiritually, physically and financially, because of what He has left to them in His Will.

Benefits must be known before they can be claimed.

You cannot claim anything in the Bible until you know about it. This is an excellent reason why you should read Jesus’ Will every day. It is wonderful to find out what Jesus left to us!

So read the Will daily. Check out for yourself what are its provisions for you.

Here are some benefits of immense importance that Jesus left you and me in His Will.

He left us eternal life. (John 3:16,36; 5:24. Romans 10:9-10.)

He left us His Name. (John 14:13; 16:26.)

He left us the Holy Spirit. (Luke 11:13; Ephesians 1:13.)

He left us healing. (Matthew 8:17. Isaiah 53:5. Exodus 15:26. 3 John 2. Romans 8:2.)

He left us power to heal others. (Mark 16.18. James 5:14-15.)

He left us deliverance from sin and Satan and the curse of the Law. (Galatians 3:13.)

You will find in Deuteronomy 28 what the curse of the Law is. Every kind of sickness is in the curse of the Law. Many sicknesses are named. But then in Deuteronomy 28:60-61, it says,

“Deuteronomy 28:60  Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61  Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.”

So even sicknesses which are not named in the Bible (like diabetes and cancer) are part of the curse of the Law.

But Jesus’ Will says in Galatians 3:13,

Galatians 3:13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

We were actually redeemed from all sickness and disease! ALL!

The redemption price was the Blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18-19).

The Holy Ghose confirms this in our own spirit. “God bought you, spirit soul and body. You are redeemed. These scriptures list your benefits.)

He left us power to deliver others. (Mark 16:17.)

He left us peace that passes understanding. (Philippians 4:7.)

He left us fullness of joy. (John 15:11; 16:24.)

He left us self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23. The word translated as “temperance” can also be translated as “self-control”.)

He left us provision for every need. (Philippians 4:19.)

And so much much more! (Matthew 21:22. Mark 9:23. 1 Timothy 6:17. 2 Peter 1:3.)

You can leave your benefits unclaimed if you want to, but how much better it is to claim them! When you find something you have need of, take the Blood of Jesus Christ and say, “Father, I found this in the Will. I ask You to open up the rich treasury of Heaven and get otu that which belongs to me. Today I discovered that it is mine. The Blood of Jesus speaks better things that that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). The Blood of Jesus says I have a right to my inheritance. So, Father, I come boldly to Your Throne of Grace and claim what rightfully belongs to me.” Wake up early in the morning, and go before the Throne of God. Don’t let the sun get on the earth before you claim your benefits in the great court of heaven.

Perhaps you don’t know what you are missing. Some people have never touched the Will, never open the Will. Check your inheritance in His Will. You will find out that you do not have to be poor. You do not have to barely “get by” in life. You do not have to be sickly all the time. You do not have to drag through life defeated and depressed.

A Will Can Be Contested!

This is true in the natural, and it is also true in the spiritual realm. Every time you try to claim anything from God, there is a devil that will contest that Will. He will come around and say, “No, that is not right. That promise is not for you. That was just for the apostles. That was for somebody else. You had better be careful about taking God at His Word literally. You may die if you do so.”

That is the voice of the enemy, and it is a lie!

Romans 3:4  … yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; …

We can also correctly say, “Let God be true, and every devil and demon a liar.” For Jesus says, speaking of the devil:

“John 8:44  … he is a liar, and the father of it.”

However impossible the miracle you require may seem, the Bible says,

Mark 10:27  … With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Take it as a fact: the devil will contest the Will every time you take a promise from it. He may put a symptom on you, or come against you in other ways. What should you do? Don’t stare at what the devil is doing. Instead, say, “Wait a minute, devil. Let me check my Will. Let me see if it has changed in any way. I am going to read it to you, Mr. Devil, just in case you haven’t read it. Look, Galatians 3:13 still says, Christ hath redeemed me from the curse of the Law. Now, devil, since you are contesting this Will, let’s read Deuteronomy 28. It says taht all sickness is a curse of teh Law. Therefore my Will says that I am redeemed from the curse of the Law, and tehrefore sickness cannot be a part of me!”

And the devil will flee before God’s Word.

James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Revelation 12:11 says,

Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; …

So trust your life to God. You have the Will. And you have the Blood sprinkled on the Mercy Seat in Heaven to probate the Will. All you have to do is claim the Blood of Jesus Christ at the Throne of God. Quote the part of the Will that applies to your case, and declare that it is yours! Then act like it! Dare to act like the benefits are yours! Act like it even though you don’t feel like it! Faith requires action! Then hold fast to your confession of deliverance when the devil tries to steal your benefits.

You have a Lawyer.

When a will is contested, the beneficiary argues before the Judge with the help of a lawyer, an advocate. God has appointed an Advocate to argue your case for you.

1 John 2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

In a court, ther is an advocate and a Judge. We have Jesus as our Advocate and our Heavenly Father is the Judge. You just cananot lose with a team like that!

When the devil begins to contest the Will, accuse you and try to rob you, your Advocate stands to defend you. The Judge sits on teh bench and your Advocate begins by saying, “I just want You to look, Father, at My hands. Look at My feet and My side. Behold, I am the One that died. My Blood is sprinkled here before You as proof of My purchasing their benefits. The Will is in effect. Father, look upon that Blood that I shed in My human body to purchase the benefits for My saved ones. I declare that the devil is nullified, and they have the benefits that I purchased for them.”

Rest assured that we have an Advocate, Jesus, who when the Will is contested, stands and fights our case to the victory!

To sum up …

What should you do when the devil contests the Will, as he undoubtedly will do, every time you claim any of your inheritances from Jesus?

Here’s what you should do.

Check your Will. When it seems like everything is going wrong, open that Will that God left you. Read it with your own eyes. The Bible says,

Proverbs 4:21  Let them (God’s Words) not depart from thine eyes; …

So let your physical eyes look at what the Will says.

So, when the devil begins to harass you, don’t just call the scripture to remembrance in your mind (helpful as that is). Get your Will. Open it up. Read it.

Read it aloud. Joshua 1:8 says,

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth

So read your Will aloud, and declare your rights according to the Will.

Some people begin to cry when the devil attacks them. They moan and groan and begin to look for someone, some minister, some pastor, some prayer partner, to come to their rescue.

NO! NO! NO! GO CHECK YOUR WILL!

Learn to stand on the Word of God yourself. Learn to grow up in God. Learn to find out what God left you in Christ. Learn to know who you are in God.

Boldly take your promise in the Will to the Father and say, “Father, here is my promise. I refuse to continue in this problem. No demon is going to harass me. I am not going to be in poverty, spiritually, financially, or physically. I am claiming my benefits in the Lord Jesus Christ for me and my household. The Blood of Jesus is my basis. That shows that He died for me, and He rose again to be the executor of His Will, and my Advocate before the Supreme Court in Heaven. I am claiming what He has left to me. I will not let the devil rob me of it.”

It is such a job to have something to read every day that will undergird us and strengthen us in the things that God wants us to have! And the Blood of Jesus is your surety for everything that He died for.

Learn what is in your Will. Begin to act on it. You will find yourself rich in God, for a limitless inheritance has been bequeathed to you!
