Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
In it He identified Himself as I AM.
He knew that this would make sense to His People, because He had already been referring to Himself for centuries as I AM.
It can be seen from the saying about the place, quoted at the end of the verse, that Yireh has to do with “seeing”.
Therefore, literally, Yahweh Yireh means I AM Who Sees or Who Will See To It.
In other words, God’s provision will be seen.
The Lord not only looks on those who are His, but makes his help manifest to them.
In a deeper sense, this phrase can be understood as foretelling that Jesus, the Incarnate Son of God,
who became the Lamb offered for the sins of the world, would literally be seen in that place.
I AM your Victory Banner – Exodus 17:15
I AM your Peace – Judges 6:20
God wants us to believe Him, but not as the devils do, who believe and tremble (James 2:19)
God wants us to believe that HE IS. Hebrews 11:6.
He Is: He is our I AM.
He wants to be our personal I AM.
Receive Him as your very own I AM.
