The Covenants Page

The most common way to divide the Bible is by dispensations. But each dispensation is based upon a specific covenant, and knowledge of these covenants will help us all “rightly divide the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

Although a dispensation may come to ane end, the covenants themselves often continue. Specifically, conditional covenants are terminated if the terms of the covenant are broken, specially if they are broken consistently. Unconditional Covenants remain in force.

Each of the eight Covenants governs one or more of the dispensations:

  1. The Edenic Covenant > The Dispensation of Innocence

  2. The Adamic Covenant > The Dispensation of Conscience

  3. The Noahic Covenant > The Dispensation of Human Government

  4. The Abrahamic Covenant > The Dispensations of Promise, of Law, of Grace, of Judgment, of the Kingdom … and Eternity Future

  5. The Mosaic Covenant > The Dispensation of Law

  6. The Land Covenant > The Dispensations of Promise, of Law, of Grace, of Judgment, of the Kingdom … … and Eternity Future

  7. The Davidic Covenant > The Dispensations of Law, of Grace, of the Kingdom … and Eternity Future

  8. The New Covenant > The Dispensations of Grace, of the Kingdom … and Eternity Future
