The Month of Cheshwan

Also known as Marcheshwan

  1. The month of Manasseh (to forget, to leap up and away). Just like the meaning of Manasseh’s name, (Gen. 41:51) God blesses us so we can forget the hardships and sufferings. We have to be careful in this month: activity goes on that you need to ask the Lord how to maneuver through. Remember Jesus, “who for the joy set before him, endured” (Heb. 12:2).
  2. This is the month of Noah’s flood (one year and ten days). We will see the flood moving in our circumstances, until something is dealt with. Let’s be sure to deal with issues.
  3. A month reserved for the anointing. This can make it easy or hard. The anointing will break the yoke (Isa. 10:27), but the oil within has to be pressed out. So, rejoice even though circumstances may be very pressing.
  4. A month to deal with hardships, trials, and tribulations by receiving the anointing. Let your pain transform you into God’s plan. We are not exempt from bad times, but we can be transformed by the renewing of our mind regardless of what we go through (Rom 12:2). If we are of the world, all we can do is conform (like sons of Belial—2 Cor. 6:15; Deut. 13:13 KJV). We have power and the blood of Jesus flowing through us so we can be transformed.
  5. Therefore, ask the Lord to purge your soul of envy, bitterness, complaining, and self-seeking (James 3:13-16). These enter easily and become strongholds that hinder us from being conformed to the image of Jesus. Review the life of Moses so that you understand how anger stops you from proceeding (Moses was born during this month).
  6. A month for dealing with root issues; a time for deliverance.
  7. The month of smell. This month, the soul responds in unusual ways. Smell affects soul, not the body. The fragrance of God can really permeate the soulish nature (2 Cor. 2:14–16) and change us and others around us.
  8. The “myrrh” or “myrtle” month.
  9. The month to smell the awe of God (Isa. 11:13). Ask the Lord for the fragrance of the Holy Spirit to emanate from you.
  10. A month when you will begin to see colors. This month is “violet,” which often stands for “passion for God.”
  11. Passion will help us receive revelation that helps move us into a supernatural state.
  12. The month of Scorpio, the snake of Eden. The enemy wants to produce some strategies around you to hinder you. So, this may be a time of struggle. But remember that Jesus trampled on the snake. We can/must do the same (Romans 16:20).
  13. The month of the Hebrew letter NUN. This letter looks like a boundary and refers to light, which although confined by the boundaries of nature, permeates into the end of things to produce a new sound for the beginning. Without a new anointing this month, Satan gets an upper hand.
  14. This is the month to get your heel on the enemy’s plan. You need to cry out for the anointing. Through forgiveness you can get victory over all the schemes of the devil (2 Cor 2:10–11).
  15. The month of intestines. The month of fine digestion; the ability to dissect and assimilate things.
  16. The month that you have to war with words. This should be the month you yell, “I am satisfied.” This should push out the words that are dissatisfying. Words that are not spoken right can go down into your innermost being. Perhaps types of stomach trouble occur because we receive the wrong words.
