Is the Bible inspired by God Himself? In what sense is it inspired? in which texts are the inspired words contained? Does inspiration also inhere in any translation? Many doctrinal statements claim faith in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the original autographs (that is, the original manuscripts, whether on parchment or other material, as they came from the pen of the original writer. By verbal is meant that the very words are inspired. By plenary is meant that all that is contained in the Bible is inspired, that we can't pick and choose what to believe and what to reject.
