Dr. Graffan Guinness' study of God's time piece

This is about the Vision of the 'Seven Times' of Daniel 4

Over a century ago, Dr. H. Grattan Guinness, a servant of God who was also an eminent astronomer, became convinced that God was fulfilling the time prophecy of Daniel 4. (It would be good if you would take a moment to read that prophetic chapter.)

Studied in the light of Daniel 1 to 3, this vision obviously takes on importance far higher than what has been assigned to it by average interpreters.

Principles for Understanding Biblical Prophecy

Many in this world and even in "Christendom" do not take the whole of the Bible as their study agenda. That's because they think Scripture is a mystery - its images incomprehensible symbols. Since no one can understand them, there's nothing to do except pass such passages by and stick to the promises of God that feed our faith that we can get what we want from God.

Importance of Studying Prophecy

We all would like  to know the future, If we did it would give us guidance on how to live our lives now. Knowledge of the future would help us plan and prepare and give a sense of direction to our lives.

But can we know the future?

Yes in broad outline and in important specifics - through a study of Bible Prophecy! And though the outline is not specific to an individual life, the study of prophecy does provide principles and guidelines by which we can obtain a sense of direction for our individual lives.

Jeremiah 5 verse 31

Jeremiah 5:31  The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) has been the entry point for innumerable false prophecies and false prophets and apostles over the years.

To understand how Jeremiah 5:31 works out in the modern world, consider what happened in 1994, when John Hinkle prophecied on TBN that on June 9, 1994, "The Lord will rip evil out."

1 Chronicles 13 verse 32

1 Chronicles 12:32  And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

Why were all their brethren at their commandment?

Because they knew what Israel had to do.

How did the children of Issachar know what Israel had to do?

They had understanding of the times.

This is crucial.
